A contempt proceeding is for the purpose of enforcing a court order or judgment.

If a party willfully fails to follow court orders, a contempt action can be filed against them in Court.  As part of a contempt judgment, the Court can not only enforce its own orders, but it can also order sanctions and/or attorney’s fees and costs against the party who violated the Court’s orders.

The attorneys at the Levitt Law Group are experienced in evaluating and bringing, or defending, contempt actions.  We can provide you with the appropriate legal advice for your case.  Contact us for more information or to schedule a consultation.
